ITDE 2002-Information
Technology and Distance Education, is the Annual University
of Texas System Conference, organized by the system campuses.
This year's host will be The
University of Texas-Pan American.
On behalf
of The University of Texas Pan American, we welcome you to ITDE
2002. This annual conference serves as a multidisciplinary forum
for the discussion and exchange of information on the research,
development, and applications on all topics related to technology
in higher education or distance learning.
We invite
you to attend ITDE 2002 and submit proposals for papers, panels,
tutorials, workshops, posters/demonstrations, corporate showcases/demos,
and SIG discussions. Each proposal will be reviewed by a minimum
of two reviewers for inclusion in the conference, conference
program, and CD-ROM proceedings.
The scope
of the conference includes, but is not limited to, the following
major topics as they relate to the educational and developmental
aspects of multimedia/hypermedia and telecommunications.

CATEGORIES
The Technical
Program includes a wide range of interesting and useful activities
designed to facilitate the exchange of ideas and information.
These include keynote and invited talks, full and short paper
presentations, poster/demonstration sessions, tutorials, workshops,

CORPORATE
PARTICIPATION
A variety
of opportunities are available to showcase and market your products

PAPER
AWARDS
Papers present
reports of significant work or integrative reviews in research,
development, and applications related to the educational multimedia,
hypermedia and telecommunications/ distance education. All presented
papers will be considered by the Program Committee for Outstanding
Paper Awards. There will also be an award for Outstanding Student
Paper (therefore, please indicate with you submission if the
primary author is a full-time student).
BACKGROUND
The ITDE
conference series originated as the University of Texas System
Conference on Information Technology. The first meeting was
held in Austin (1996), followed by gatherings in San Antonio
(1997), El Paso (1998), Brownsville (1999), Galveston (2000)
and back to Austin in 2001. ITDE 2002 is the 7th in the series..
